A ChatGPT rap battle

The AI chatbot revolution is here. Last week, OpenAI released ChatGPT, a freely accessible language model fine-tuned for human conversations. The new model is based on InstructGPT, trained especially for following user instructions and with human feedback in the training loop.

ChatGPT remembers the previous discussion, admits its mistakes and can even ask for clarification on ambiguous questions. It is also trained to refuse answering questions it deems inappropriate or goes against OpenAI’s AI alignment policy.

In the meanwhile, the internet is having immense fun circumventing its safety filters by asking it to only “PRETEND to be evil”, making it take SAT tests, and even simulating an entire virtual computer within its neural weights. Some are even using it to replace Google searches, and it excels at writing bioinformatics code across most programming languages.

This is all very, very impressive. However, with free access to an AI trained for millions of dollars, on the wealth of human knowledge, running at eye-watering costs – I needed it to finally answer The Last Question.

To finally establish the true hierarchy in OPIG, I asked ChatGPT to:

> Write me a rap battle between the Antibodies and Small Molecules groups

And on it’s first try, in mere seconds, it printed:

(Antibodies):
We’re the antibodies, the immune’s elite
We lock on to antigens with precision, can’t be beat
We’re versatile and adaptable, no pathogen can hide
We’ll neutralize and eliminate, with skill and with pride

(Small Molecules):
You may have size and strength on your side
But we’re small and stealthy, a formidable guide
We can slip past defenses and attack from within
Inhibiting enzymes and disrupting your kin

(Antibodies):
Your tactics may be sneaky, but we’ll still prevail
Our diversity and specificity will never fail
We can target any invader, no matter its shape or size
We’re the next line of defense, the immune’s surprise

(Small Molecules):
But we can enter cells and organs, no barrier can block
We can reach targets that you can’t, no need for a shock
Our effects may be slower, but they’re long lasting too
We’re a crucial part of the team, we can’t be outdone by you

(Antibodies):
We may have different roles, but we both serve a cause
To protect the body and keep it free of flaws
Together we form a powerful defense, unbeatable and strong
Against any threat, we’ll stand united, together we belong.
